Purpose made Solar pre-heat cylinder with additional heat unit.
How does it work ?
The client wished to keep the existing hot water cylinder and airing cupboard.
The whole Solar installation was carried out in the loft and the pre-heat cylinder located in the loft.
The Solar panel heats the pre-heat cylinder and feeds the existing hot water cylinder, the existing heating boiler 'tops up' the temperature if required.
The average hot water temperature by householders is 55 deg C, as the Solar system heats the pre-heat system up to 65 deg C on many days no heat input is required. Even in Winter, the winter sun heats up the incoming cold water so less heat input is required.
An immersion circuit can be added so the cylinder can provide double the normal hot water storage if very high usage is required or if a Photovoltaic input is required.
Added value
A renewable energy system such as Solar will increase the value of your property and make your property more saleable as 'home information packs' become more widespread.
A solar installation will reduce your carbon footprint and help reduce global warming.
A VT200 advanced solar installation will reduce your hot water costs by up to 70%.
